High-speed vial capping machines

High-speed vial capping machines (commonly known as capping machines) are essential equipment used for the final sealing of vials in the cosmetics, pharmaceutical, and biotechnology industries. Their primary function is to mechanically roll aluminum caps or aluminum-plastic composite caps tightly and securely onto the necks of pre-stoppered vials, ensuring that the medication remains sterile and sealed throughout its shelf life.



Product Introduction:

The high-speed vial capping machine is a fully automatic, high-efficiency aluminum cap sealing device primarily used for capping and crimping vials in the freeze-dried and injectable drug production lines at pharmaceutical plants. The equipment can perform a complete set of processes, including bottle sorting, cap sorting, cap feeding, capping, bottle discharge, and reject removal. It can operate as a standalone unit or be integrated with bottle washers, tunnel ovens, and filling machines to form a fully automated, interlinked production line covering washing, drying, filling, and capping.


Currently, high-speed vial capping machines have achieved a production capacity of 150–600 vials per minute, capable of meeting the demands of large-scale pharmaceutical production.

2. Advanced Capping Technology, Reliable Sealing Quality

The equipment employs either single-blade multi-head rolling or three-blade rolling capping technology. The single-blade rolling method produces aesthetically pleasing, smooth seals with minimal mechanical impact and a low bottle breakage rate; The three-blade rotary capping method utilizes three quenched blades evenly spaced at 120° intervals. During capping, the blades converge inward to uniformly compress the aluminum cap, resulting in a secure and smooth seal. Advanced models feature a constant-pressure bottle support and rotation mechanism, with capping pressure monitored and recorded in real time to ensure consistent capping results for every bottle.

3. Intelligent Control and High Automation

The equipment utilizes a PLC + touchscreen control system, ensuring stable and reliable operation with an intuitive user interface. It features the following intelligent functions: no capping without a bottle, and no capping without a cap. It also includes self-diagnostic capabilities, alarm displays, and an automatic shutdown function in case of bottle overturn.

4. Compliant with GMP Standards and Sterile Production Requirements

All parts of the equipment that come into contact with packaging materials are made of SUS304 stainless steel or non-toxic engineering plastics, ensuring no contamination. The work surface and protective covers are constructed of stainless steel, and the rollers are highly durable and wear-resistant.

5. Design to Prevent Aluminum Shavings Contamination

The capping station is equipped with an aluminum shaving extraction device, which effectively minimizes the impact of aluminum shavings generated during the capping process on the Class A laminar flow environment, thereby preventing contamination and quality issues caused by aluminum shavings.

6. Easy Maintenance and Quick Changeovers

The equipment features a compact and well-designed structure. The capping head assembly can be manually adjusted as a whole to accommodate bottle heights of varying sizes. When switching bottle specifications, only a few parts need to be replaced to complete the changeover quickly; the mold change time for each machine typically does not exceed 2 hours, significantly enhancing the production line’s flexibility.
